Cody - North Carolina (2016)

Before Cody came into our lives we were anxious at getting the right puppy. After much thought and consideration we decided that we should get a shiba inu. Their cute foxlike faces, curly tail, and medium build were definitely factors that led us to make this decision.
The ShibaPup.com was a very helpful website. It was very easy to coordinate meeting the shiba inu puppies that were available. After driving a few hours to the location, it was nice to see the wide area where the shiba puppies live. Cody and his two brothers greeted us with eagerness. We saw them chasing each other and licking the water in the water pan. Cody struck our attention because of his more docile nature- he rarely barked like his brothers. We happily received Cody with welcoming arms.
This new addition of our family definitely changed our lives. The first day of his arrival peaked our attention- Cody peed on our carpet and whined throughout the night. My mom had to sleep next to him to calm his nerves. He was our first puppy and we were surprised at how much work it would take to care for him.
Cody has definitely grown in these past few weeks since we got him. After a few days of potty accidents he now knows to sit by the front door when he wants to go out to do his business. It's also a ritual to walk him immediately after he eats his food. After one class of puppy training Cody can now follow the commands sit, wait, stand, and down. He also loves chewing on shoes and being chased. Cody is a real joy to have. We are excited to grow along with him. Thanks!
